Changbao Special Materials Division Achieves Phased Breakthrough in Hot Extrusion Process Technology

Recently, Changbao Precision has made a breakthrough in the field of hot extrusion for high-end special materials, successfully realizing the hot extrusion production of high-end stainless steel tubes, corrosion-resistant alloy and high-temperature alloy tubes. This milestone marks the iterative upgrade of Changbao’s forming technology for special materials.

Driven by technological leadership for development, Changbao Special Materials Division has built a comprehensive capability covering material R&D, hot extrusion forming and subsequent precision machining, possessing a number of intelligent production lines including hot extrusion lines, high-end alloy tube lines, ultra-long precision tube lines and clean tube lines, along with a well-established quality control system, which provides all-round assurance for product performance and reliability.

Integrating a 10MN vertical hole expanding machine and a 25MN horizontal extrusion press, the hot extrusion production line is equipped with an automated control system and a full-process tracking system. It enables the accurate, stable and efficient production of high-end alloy tubes in various specifications with an outer diameter ranging from Φ38mm to 127mm and a wall thickness from 3.5mm to 21mm, laying a sophisticated equipment and technological foundation for the forming of alloys with complex compositions.

Through independent process innovation, Changbao Special Materials Division has overcome a number of technical bottlenecks in the hot extrusion of alloy tubes. In the power tube sector, the company has successfully extruded S31035 heat-resistant steel and HT700T nickel-iron alloy tubes, providing a core material guarantee for the clean and efficient transformation of thermal power generation. In terms of corrosion-resistant materials, it has achieved the successful extrusion of ultra-high purity TP316L stainless steel tubes, S38815 high-silicon stainless steel tubes, Hastelloy C series (including N06022) and corrosion-resistant alloy OCTG (including N08028). These products can be widely applied to harsh working conditions such as semiconductor engineering, deep-sea oil and gas exploitation, chemical reactors and flue gas treatment, significantly enhancing the reliability and service life of relevant equipment.

The successful development of this diverse range of high-end alloy hot-extruded tubes demonstrates the company’s comprehensive strength in serving national strategic needs through independent innovation.
