Recently, CNOOC announced that China's first offshore carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage project was put into use on the Enping 15-1 platform, marking that China has a major breakthrough in the field of offshore carbon storage and utilization technology. The tubing with 13Cr CBS3 connection produced by Changbao has been comprehensively applied in this demonstration project. From CCS projects to CCUS projects, high-quality tubing products provide a green channel for "carbon sealing and oil flooding".

Enping 15-1 oil field is a high carbon dioxide oil field. If the field is developed by the conventional mode, carbon dioxide will be extracted from the ground together with crude oil, which will not only cause corrosion to offshore platform facilities and submarine pipelines, but also increase carbon dioxide emissions. The Enping 15-1 oilfield CCUS project was launched at the end of 2023 and officially put into production on May 22, 2025. The project has achieved a full chain upgrade of China's offshore carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and storage equipment technology. In the following decade, the carbon dioxide injection is expected to be over 1 million tons, driving crude oil production to increase by 200,000 tons.

The Enping 15-1 Oilfield CCUS project applys Changbao L80-13Cr CBS3 premium connection into production. The CBS3 premium connection is the 3rd generation gas tight sealing premium connection independently developed by Changbao. After the project was launched, the operation runs smoothly, and the quality and performance of CBS3 premium connection are highly recognized by customers. Previously, the CNOOC Enping 15-1 oilfield CCS demonstration project, which was put into production in 2023, also applied Changbao 13Cr tubings. So far, nearly 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide have been reinjected.
